Porta Potty Delivery Checklist: 8 Things to Do Before the Truck Arrives

Eight quick steps that get a porta potty placed right the first time, whether it is going in a backyard, a driveway, a job site or a lease pad.

What should you do before porta potty delivery?

Before porta potty delivery, pick a level spot within about 30 feet of where the truck can park, mark it, clear the path, unlock the gate or share the code, and give us a mobile number. Those five steps let the driver place the unit in minutes, even when you are not there.

  1. Pick a level spotFirm ground, no slope, not on a septic lid, sprinkler head or soft lawn.
  2. Keep it within about 30 feet of the truckThe service hose has to reach it every visit.
  3. Mark the spotA cone, chair or chalk X, plus a photo texted to us.
  4. Clear a 10-foot pathMove cars, trailers and materials. Watch for low wires and branches.
  5. Open the gateUnlock it, share the code, or tell us where the key is.
  6. Send a pin if there is no addressDrop it on the exact spot.
  7. Name an on-site contactThe driver texts them 30 minutes out.
  8. Think about wind and privacyDoor away from the west wind and facing a fence or wall.

How much room does the delivery truck need?

Our delivery and service trucks need about 10 feet of width, 13 feet of height clearance and a firm surface that can hold a loaded truck. They can back down most driveways and lease roads but cannot cross soft lawns after rain or squeeze through a standard side gate.

What happens if the driver can't reach the spot?

If the driver cannot reach the marked spot, you get a call and a photo, and the unit goes in the closest safe spot you approve. If no safe spot is possible, the driver leaves and a return trip is scheduled; a trip charge may apply, and we tell you before rebooking.

What should you check after the unit arrives?

After the unit arrives, check that it sits level without rocking, the door closes and latches, toilet paper and sanitizer are stocked, and the unit is anchored if it sits on open ground. Text us a photo if anything is off and we fix it the same day.
